The AUN/SEED-Net 1st Regional Conference on Natural Disaster was successfully held in Yogyakarta on January 22-23, 2014. UGM, c.q. MPBA, as the Host Institution of the AUN/SEED-Net ND Field organized the conference under the collaboration with the Co-Host Istitution, Chulalongkorn University and Bandung Institute of Technology.
As part of the activities of University of Tsukuba’s students during their stay in MPBA, 2-13 September 2013, they visited Merapi area to conduct field measurement, notably water quality.
Six students and two professors from University of Tsukuba, Japan, are visiting MPBA, 2-13 September 2013 as part of Students Exchange Program between MPBA and UT. Together with 3 students of MPBA and 2 students of Civil Engineering Graduate Program, they conducted various activities, such as sitting-in courses and studying impact of Merapi eruption to rivers and groundwater in the area.
